As a young girl in grade school, I never thought about how the type of food I was eating affected my body. I would always think, “I’m young so I can eat whatever I want!”. However, I quickly learned that eating just anything usually comes with unhealthy consequences. Upon graduating high school in 2011, I joined a gym with some friends and that is where my health journey began. I really enjoyed exercising and started to wonder how the food I was eating could affect my body and impact my results. This led me to change my major in college to Exercise Science and Health Promotion, graduating four years later with my Bachelor’s Degree from Florida Atlantic University. During my time at college, I began working at a gym and started to educate people through personal training. My knowledge from working in the gym combined with what I learned in school truly changed my way of life!

Since then, I have challenged myself physically by running numerous 5ks, two half-marathons, lifting weights, doing CrossFit, and including yoga into my weekly routine. I am more conscious about my diet and have noticed such a difference not only in the way I look, but in the way I feel on a day to day basis. Being Healthy For Life has always been a great passion of mine and I want to share that with others. This is why I chose to get my Master Health Coach Certification from the Dr. Sears Wellness Institute and become a NASM Certified Personal Trainer.

Time and time again, I see people go on diets and lose all this weight just to end up gaining it back a few months later. I want to help break that cycle! I believe that creating healthy habits in a methodical way, over time, will really allow for these changes to be maintained for life. Many of the leading chronic illnesses and diseases in the United States are preventable, and most times even reversible, by improved diet and an increase in exercise. By implementing these healthy behaviors into your life, you can potentially avoid drowning healthcare costs and the debt that comes with being sick.

I created Healthy For Life in hopes to connect with people who may be struggling with maintaining that healthy lifestyle many of us strive for. In today’s day and age, it can be difficult to know what is healthy versus what is not with so many different marketing schemes and confusing labels. Healthy For Life is here to educate and guide you on how to determine what foods are good for you, be your support system along the way, and most importantly provide you with the tools to maintain a healthy lifestyle FOR LIFE!
